Board Meeting  February 13, 2012

 The meeting was called to order at 7:08 PM by the President, Sharon Cook.  Attendees were board members Sharon Cook, Leon Leonard, Maureen Walsh, Don Kelley, and Karen Purvis.  Also attending was Bob Cook, D&D Chairman.

 Secretary’s Report.  The minutes of the January 9 board meeting were approved and will be posted on the HOA website.

 D and D Committee.  The D&D committee will do a walk-around the last week in February.  Bob will send a letter to properties without working garage lights.  Don will paint over the graffiti on the 7^th avenue fence.

 Trees.  Leon will seek clarification from the city on ownership of the planting strip between the sidewalks and the street and responsibility for trees in the planting strip.  If it is feasible, we will ask the city arborist to do a brief presentation at our annual meeting about tree maintenance.

 Annual Meeting.  The annual meeting will be April 28 at the Summit Library on 112^th west of Canyon.  Karen has reserved the meeting room from 9:30 to 12:30.  The meeting will start at 10 AM.  Sharon will draft a letter to homeowners about the meeting and mention the BBQ, trees, and committee opportunities. It will also contain a sentence about considering a dues increase.   Leon suggested that we try vote-by-mail for the election this year to avoid the problem with proxies and perhaps stimulate increased participation by homeowners in HOA activities.  Leon will check with Sam about the feasibility of email voting.  Don asked if there are rules in the RCW about voting.
